DOES YOUR CHIMNEY NEED CERAMIC RESTORATION?
Over time, your chimney takes on a lot of wear and tear. This can eventually lead to damaged liners and holes in the masonry. If these holes and damages aren’t patched, it can lead to hazards such as fire escaping into the chimney cavity and potentially the drywall areas of your home.
Rather than demolish your existing masonry, Chimney Scientists aim to safely and adequately restore your chimney.
Keep you, your loved ones, and your home safe with our comprehensive ceramic restoration services. Schedule an appointment by calling (610) 909-5585 today.
Ceramic Restoration & The Process
Ceramic restoration is used to restore the structural integrity of chimneys and ensure they can function safely and efficiently. The ceramic coating is applied as a thick mortar designed to fill in the gaps and cracks in your chimney.
Our ceramic restoration process entails:
- Our team will cover the area in plastic for protection and cleanliness.
- From there, we’ll set up ladders or scaffolding to access your chimney.
- A mechanical crank with a large sponge-like applicator will be lowered into your chimney.
- The liquid ceramic is poured down onto the applicator.
- We’ll then crank the applicator up the chimney as the ceramic coats the inside of your chimney, filling in any holes and cracks along the way.
- We’ll assess your chimney, ensure there are no more gaps, and remove and clean all our tools.
- We’ll enter your home and look up into your chimney; if cracks are present, we’ll use a different machine to spray the ceramic coating into the smoke chamber.
- Once your chimney is properly coated, we’ll clean up the excess liquid ceramic, bricks, and other debris, put the damper back in place, and take photos of the completed work.
Our process is designed to make the project as seamless as possible. Call (610) 909-5585 to learn more.

Your chimney might produce a strong, unusual smell, or you may notice cracked and crumbling bricks indicative of an issue. Anytime you see structural damage to your chimney, the issue must be addressed before you attempt to use it.
