It is essential to have your wood-burning fireplace and chimney cleaned and inspected by a certified sweep at least once a year, at the end of the burning season, or more often if you notice creosote and soot build-up over 1/8-inch on the inside of your chimney.
The Chimney Scientists are readily equipped to clean standard wood-burning fireplaces. We provide an inspection both internally and externally for every cleaning.
On average, cleanings take about 1.5 hours to complete because we are so thorough. We carefully remove any soot and debris, but we take the extra step to deliver a video inspection. We will provide you with pictures so that you can see the improved condition of your chimney. To do so, we use ChimScan professional cameras and utilize other high-end technologies, like drones, when appropriate.
